This week we’re starting a new series called Discover God’s Greatness. We will be taking time to work our way slowly through Psalm 145. This psalm caught my attention and I have been singing my way through it on the piano. The verses captivate me so I just linger on each, singing them again and again.
As we were planning out this series, we learned that Psalm 145 could be considered King David’s equivalent to Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel or Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa; his Pièce de Résistance of praise. It is the last of the Psalms attributed to him and it contains his expression of love for God stemming from his entire life up to that point. No wonder it is so amazing!
So today’s blog is a simple one that will hopefully cause you to linger a little longer on David’s words of praise.
Every day I will lift up my praise to your name with praises that will last throughout eternity.
Psalm 145:2 (TPT)
What does it look like to lift up praise to God everyday? What does it look like for you? Think about the idea of these praises lasting throughout eternity!
Lord, you are great and worthy of the highest praise!
Psalm 145:3 (TPT)
For there is no end to the discovery of the greatness that surrounds you.
So here is where I start to really ponder; what in the world is the highest praise? Am I bringing Him the highest praise? Are you bringing Him the highest praise? And God, if there is no end to the discovery of Your greatness, then take us into that place of discovery again and again and again!
Jesus, show us how to praise You daily and bring You the highest praise! Take Your place in the centre of our hearts and let our lives be an incense of worship to Your name.
Would love to hear your thoughts on what highest praise means to you. Leave a comment below.
I am looking forward to this series!
Once again your prayers bless me.
There is no doubt in my mind that the growth of followers is because you stay in tune with the Holy Spirit and what He wanting to say. Be blessed!
