What is Your Word?
This week’s word was sent in by Sherry. Receive is a verb, an action word with many meanings. Mostly, it involves taking in and accepting something. One definition is to give permission to enter.
Are you willing to fully receive the gifts He has for you? For we should not try to open each, picking and choosing only the things we fancy, while discarding those that do not appeal to us. As we meditate on several versus, reflect on your current capacity to receive from God.
"Truly, truly I say to you, the one who receives anyone I send, receives Me; and the one who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.” - John 13:20 NASB
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened.” - Luke 11:9-10 NASB
And whoever receives one such child in My name, receives Me. - Matthew 18:5 NASB
I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. - Mark 11:23-24 NLT
And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give. - Matthew 10:7-8 NASB
What does it look like for you to fully receive Jesus and all that He has for you? Be blessed as you progress along your journey with the father.
