Fear Not
Right now, each and every person on the planet needs Jesus more than ever. In the midst of tragedy all around us, who or what are we looking to for our refuge and shelter?
David, in the midst of his own tragic times, was always able to express his grief and then worship afterwards. Whether it is a loss of income, sickness, or even death of a loved one, processing our grief is healthy and normal. But in doing so, we need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Through it all, the hardship and struggle, worship will always be the response when we see Jesus rightly. He is here and He is with us during these times. Once we’re able to see Him in it all, we can’t help but NOT worship. He is just too beautiful, too lovely, too powerful, too almighty to have any other response than to worship Him.
This week and this season, lay down anything preventing you from coming into that place of worship. Do not be afraid to allow God’s conviction to show you where your gaze is misplaced. He always convicts to set you free. His lovingkindness has no limits.
As you meditate on this weeks scripture, may it root you in a greater awareness of your safety and security in Christ.
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. - Psalm 91:5-8 (NLT)
If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
