God of Love
Love… some say love is a verb, others say love is a noun, and still others say it’s an adjective as well. Go ahead, look it up, we’ll wait right here. So, what do you say love is?
This week we’re setting our gaze upon the love of God by meditating on 1 John 4:7-12. Here, in verses 7-8 we see how God loves because He is love.
Those who are loved by God, let his love continually pour from you to one another, because God is love. Everyone who loves is fathered by God and experiences an intimate knowledge of him. The one who doesn’t love has yet to know God, for God is love. - 1 John 4:7-8 (TPT)
Did you catch that one little part in there? The one who doesn’t love has yet to know God part? We are called to love. Actually, we’re commanded to love, and since that is the case, it behooves us to know God.
